Miami brokerage inks fintech deal, builds out structured products unit

Miami-based broker-dealer ACP Securities has signed a deal with Capital Vision Group to use its fintech platform to help build out its structured product business across Latin America and the US.

The deal will allow ACP to use Capital Vision’s fintech platform Vizibility which offers price discovery and an optimized reporting technology for structured notes for wealth firms, family offices and independent asset managers.

The fintech platform allows financial advisors to spread issuer risk by providing a pool of nine issuers to choose from for their structured notes investments.

‘We’re not showcasing the multi-pricer element as a differentiator because everybody has a pricing tool, but rather the innovative elements of Vizibility’s platform which are life cycle management and reporting technology, said Aurelien Vicart, a founding partner of Capital Vision.

In February, ACP Securities hired Romain Le Bon as its head of structured products to be based in the firm’s New York offices as part of its initiative to build up the unit’s offering.

Le Bon previously worked as director for Natixis CIB Americas unit for more than three years, covering the US offshore space with a specific focus on third party distribution in Chile, Uruguay and Peru.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he has also worked for Crédit Agricole, Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas.

At the moment, Le Bon is focused on developing the structured notes unit by bolstering its product offering and getting specific distribution agreements in place for both the US offshore and onshore markets.

‘Right now, we’re in contact with close to 20 dealers and more than two-thirds have executed TAs with us in the offshore space while one third has been on the onshore space,’ Le Bon Said.

‘We’re trying to also get some long-term relationships with key players and actors in the Andean region, be it asset managers be it family offices,’ he added.

Le Bon also said that ACP had recently signed a new lease for a larger office space on Brickell Avenue as it looks to build out its Miami-based team with new hires.

ACP Securities has offices in Miami, Dallas, New York, Buenos Aires and Montevideo. According to its website, it offers investment banking, alternative investment and wealth management services.
